Walking tours of Ketchikan, Alaska
There are many things that constitute a quintessential Alaskan life…rugged individualism, self reliance, survival instincts, and resourcefulness, just to name a few. Throughout time, Ketchikan has been home to various and sundry Alaskans that fit this profile and prove, without a doubt, that Alaskans are made from tougher stuff.
A walking tour with Ketchikan On Foot takes you into the lives and times of these Alaskans. As we walk through town, your human and canine guides will regale you with stories and demonstrations of the Alaskan life as we know it through our experiences, and as we’ve learned it from other Alaskans.
We will introduce you to local food, artists, and businesses who can offer the most authentic Ketchikan experiences and mementos.
With luck, you will witness the same wildlife as have been spotted on our beaches and in our forests for thousands of years.
You will have a conversation with huskies who have Alaskan experiences just as interesting and exciting as the human ones.
Best of all, you’ll leave our shores with greater appreciation for the uniqueness of this amazing Alaskan life.
AngelaApril 14, 2023Beautiful Ketchikan!! Reann and the huskies, Scarlet and Quin, are the best way to see the sites! Historical, knowledgeble and FUN, it’s an authentic Alaskan way to tour a really fun city!AkpilotomApril 12, 2023Best walking tour! ReAnn is such a great tour guide, friendly, and knowledgeable! The huskies are super cute! They will “woo” for you! This walking tour hits all the highlights in the downtown area, and when you are done you are in a central spot to either go to a museum or brewery or shopping. ReAnn provided us with great recommendations of local businesses to eat and shop at. Highly recommend this tour!Lidia JApril 5, 2023You need to tour with Ketchikan on Foot! ReAnn is a professional and friendly guide. She knows her way around town and has a vast history not only of Ketchikan and Alaska but also the lower 48. I asked for recommendations on places to eat and breweries. They were all 👍👍Oh, and her photography is absolutely beautiful. Her husky dogs are so adorable and always ready to walk and “talk”. Looking forward to my next visit.

"The Huskies"
Scarlet and Quinn
Genuine, Rescued, Alaskan Huskies
Scarlet and Quinn were both born in Alaska in 2010. They have grown up adventuring, in Alaska, together. Both were acquired from the MatSu Animal Shelter, as puppies, and have been members of our family ever since. They are very social, talkative, and enjoy interacting with visitors from all over the world. As self appointed official greeters for the City of Ketchikan, they are honored to welcome you to their home.
Mostly Retired Sled Dogs
Huskies have very instinctual urges to pull. We channeled this energy when they were young and trained them to mush. Our favorite activity, by far, has been skijoring. This is where the dogs pull us on skis. At 12 yeas old, they no longer pull sleds, but still enjoy skijoring, bikejoring, and all manor of Alaskan adventure!

14 Years Alaskan
I wasn't born here, but got here as fast as I could! After a 20 year career in military and government service, we chose Alaska as our home and put down some roots. My family has history throughout the state, including right here in Ketchikan. Hearing, and reading about epic Alaskan adventures my whole life, I could not wait to make them my own. Although I have been guiding throughout the state for many years, I can't wait to show you what I love about my home here in Ketchikan.
All In On Alaskan Adventure
Currently, I live on a boat, a 40' trawler, here in Ketchikan. Before that, a cabin in the woods in Southcentral Alaska. I've been collecting Alaskan experiences since I got here, and I'm not slowing down. When I'm not piloting my boat, I'm piloting a bush plane into the wilds, or camping in my van while accessing all Alaska has to offer.
